  • Volunteer Requirements

    BACKGROUND CHECK, VIRTUS AND FINGERPRINTING

    Every school family will be volunteering within the school at some point this year whether it is driving for a field trip, working in a classroom or supervising on the playground. The Diocese of Gaylord requires each volunteer to have a cleared background check and Virtus training completed before volunteering. Background check forms and Virtus instructions are also available in our school office. 


    If the volunteer will be in contact with children for more than 8 hours in one month they also must be fingerprinted. If you have not completed the background check form or Virtus online training please do so as soon as possible. If it has been more than five years since you have completed a background check for SFX it has expired and we need to run a new one.  Likewise, the Virtus training will need to be renewed every 5 years. 

    • Background Check (ICHAT) Form

      All volunteers/school parents should complete the background check form and turn it into the school office. 

    • Volunteer Driver Form

      All school parents who will be transporting students in your personal vehicle will need to complete this form and turn it into the school office. 

    • Virtus

      All volunteers/school parents should complete the VIRTUS program. Please turn in your certificate to the school office. 

      • Navigate your browser to https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/. 
      • If you already have an account log in. If this if your first time, you will need to create an account. Be sure to select Diocese of Gaylord as your diocese. 
      • When you have completed the training session, print out your Certificate. Please provide a copy to your school/parish. 

      • Fingerprints

        All school employees and volunteers who are expected to have regular contact with minors for eight (8) or more hours each month will be required to be fingerprinted. Please obtain this form in the school office.
